My name is Marvin and I’m 62 years old. I had a little incident where I was moving a bed into the back of my truck, no problem, but as I slid it over about an inch with my right hand, something exploded on my right side.

I went to the doctor and tried a bunch of pain pills; nothing helped. It got to the point where I couldn’t get comfortable with the pain and that isn’t normal. The quality of life was poor and I had to do something about it. Fortunately, I had my wife and my son, without them I’d be in some real big trouble. I just want to be normal, I want the pain to go away and do normal activities without pain.

Dr. Zeshan Hyder performed an MIS TLIF and right now I am three months out of surgery and the pain level is about 1 compared to a 20! The therapy is very beneficial and the improvement is great. I feel the strength in my core area, and recently I’ve been able to get up and out of the bed without using upper body strength. My core is getting stronger and the pain level in my back is gone. A little stiffness, but as far as pain it’s not existent.

One improvement, I’m getting up before everyone else, and make coffee. I’m able to shower, whereas before surgery I couldn’t do anything on my own. Normal things I couldn’t do, but now I can, and it feels normal.

I’m able to drive myself to physical therapy and if I had to get out before the surgery someone else had to take me now, I can drive myself without any issues.

The process for me worked for me and it was a very positive experience.
